"This book reads as if the Jesus Storybook Bible got a middle school make-over. It's very accessible and even easy to read-aloud but intellectually it is a notch-up, which my 12 year-old daughter definitely appreciated. It's perfect for inquiring minds that want to know more but obviously aren't ready for adult theology books. I too learned so much about the Beatitudes which I (a Christian for 30+ years) have never really been fully taught before. And the tree metaphor is amazing and so helpful for remembering Jesus' teachings....would definitely recommend this book!"
